The National Biobank provides the Statens Serum Institut (SSI) with a one-site platform for the storage, full accessibility and optimum utilisation of the 5 million plus biological samples which SSI has gathered from the Danish general public over the years.
I was involved in developing the 3D model and renderings for the competition phase.
The Biobank, established in a new building adjacent to SSI’s existing premises, is intended to bring together the epidemiological environments and create the framework for a large, dynamic and internationally leading centre of research and medical surveillance.
Some 40 staff can work in the new 3,400m² building, comprising offices, laboratories and storerooms.
Developed as part of a team while working at Dissing+Weitling Architecture in Copenhagen, Denmark.
